Metro Vancouver Crime Stopper’s mission is to prevent and solve crime. As a community-based non-profit, all donations we receive help to offset the cost of receiving anonymous tip information and in turn, providing it to local, provincial, federal and international investigative agencies. We are neither a government agency nor an arm of law enforcement. We offer members of the community a safe, easy and anonymous way to report suspected criminal activity. Making a gift is another way to do your part to fight crime.

Give Online
With one click and adding a little information, you can make a tax-deductible gift to Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers. If you or someone you know has been impacted by crime, giving to Crimestoppers is one way you can help.

Give Little More
Just as easy as making a single gift, you can commit to a monthly donation – even $10.00 makes a big difference. You can change it or cancel it at any time. Even a small monthly gift can really help us get closer to our goal of #aworldwithoutcrime.

Give Even more
Making a transformational gift to the charity of your choice is easy. Bequests, gifts of securities, RRSPs and RRIFs, life insurance, or annuities are vehicles that provide lasting support to us and good tax relief for you.

Making a bequest in your will can help you leave an impact on the issues you care about. And your estate receives a tax receipt to help offset outstanding tax payable. Contact us at 604-717-3439 or email us here, to ask us for wording for your will or to designate the funds to a specific program. We would like to thank you for your visionary support, so please let us know once you have arranged for your gift.

Giving the gift of securities is particularly advantageous thanks to new legislation. You will receive a tax receipt for the full value of the appreciated securities but will pay no tax on the growth of the securities. The tax receipt can be used to shelter other income by reducing the tax payable on capital gains. A gift of securities is also an effective way to dispose of publicly traded securities that have depreciated.

You can also decide to make Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers the beneficiary of an RRSP or RRIF and offset tax at the same time. Simply indicate Metro Vancouver Crimestoppers Foundation as the recipient on your financial institution’s beneficiary designation form. We will provide you with a tax receipt in the year of disbursement.

Giving gifts of Life Insurance can make a big impact. You can donate a fully paid policy, by naming Metro Vancouver Crimestoppers Foundation as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary you will receive a tax receipt equal to the policy's cash surrender less any outstanding policy loans. You can also gift an existing policy that you are still paying the premiums for and you will receive a tax receipt for the premiums you pay each year. Again, just name Crimestoppers as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary.

If you wish to combine your gift with an investment, an Annuity is an excellent choice. This option results in a gift and can often provide stable, higher after-tax income to the donor. As a donor, you will earn a charitable donation tax credit if the amount of the lump sum gift is greater than the market price of the annuity. Depending on circumstances, an annuity combined with life insurance may be an option.
